John Billington, his wife Eleanor or Ellen, and their two sons John and Francis, traveled to Plymouth on the Mayflower. The Billingtons were not part of the Pilgrim Separatist community. John Billington was a troublesome man. His name appears in the records on several occasions, culminating in his execution for murder in 1630. His son John predeceased him. His widow remarried, his son Francis continued the family name.
