Standish Cooking Pot. Material : Cast iron. Made in England, 1600-1650. Descended in the Standish family. A cooking pot was among the most practical things a family could bring on the Mayflower. Pots were used to make pottage, a staple of English diet similar to stew, made with meat and vegetables.
