In Pilgrim times this pub (Barerra) was an English book shop operated by the publishers Thomas and Govert Basson. Although the Bassons were friends of John Robinson, Govert Basson supported the followers of Arminius (whom Robinson opposed) and Govert Basson published the complete writings of Arminius in 1617.
