JOIN OUR DOCENT CORPS & SHARE AN AMERICAN TREASURE!
Pilgrim Hall Museum’s Docent Program offers YOU the opportunity to learn, to share, to interact,
to delight, to enlighten. You can help make history live.

Pilgrim Hall Museum invites YOU to participate in a unique and heart-warming historical experience.

Visitors to Pilgrim Hall Museum discover first-hand the fascinating history of early America through our wonderful collection of original artifacts. They learn, they explore, they imagine, they enjoy.

Sometimes our visitors need guidance - an introduction, an explanation, the answer to a question, a new way of looking and thinking to excite their imaginations.

What is a "Docent?"

A docent is a volunteer trained in guiding children and adults in a 1-hour tour of Pilgrim Hall Museum.

A docent is an articulate and enthusiastic member of a Museum team, offering visitors a warm welcome and an intelligent introduction to the Pilgrim story and its significance.

A docent is a teacher, an explainer, a questioner, an enthusiast.

What is required?
A commitment to learn, a commitment to spend time, a commitment to share.

What is provided?

A community of friendly, stimulating, interesting, and interested volunteers. Training sessions and an on-the-job apprenticeship to introduce you to the Pilgrim story and the artifacts that illuminate that story. Get your PHD – Pilgrim Hall Docent – certificate upon completion of the training modules.

What is your reward?
An opportunity to meet, greet, and interact with visitors of all ages from all around the world.

There is always something new to see and do and share!
