Know all men by these
presents that I, Jonathon Bourne of Sandwich in the County of Barnstable
yeoman, for the consideration of the sum of one hundred and five pounds
money to me in hand paid by Thomas Spooner of Plymouth in the County of
Plymouth cordwainer whereof I acknowledge myself fully satisfied and paid
have bargained sold and delivered unto the abovesaid Thomas Spooner my
mulatto girl named Jean being about twenty two years of age for a slave
during her natural life unto the abovesaid Thomas Spooner his heirs and
assigns forever from me the abovesaid Jonathon Bourne my heirs executors
and administrators forever do warrant secure and defend the title of the
abovesaid girl against the claim of any person or persons whatsoever and
declaring before the signing hereof that I don’t know of any bodily
sickness weakness or lameness that attends the abovesaid girl excepting
her being with child. |
